Volume One traces the story of the Chickasaws through a series of challenges from prehistory to the modern era. Topics include the Chickasaw’s epic triumph against Hernando de Soto, European colonial manipulations and wars, removal to Indian Territory, the land-allotment period, and the Chickasaw Nation’s revitalization during the twentieth century.
